Product Owner

What Will The Right Person Look Like?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant financial services software experience as an analyst or Product Owner in the areas of Credit, Transfers, Financial Analysis and Internet & Portal applications.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, apply judgment, maintain stable performance under stress, and demonstrate flexibility in an evolving work environment.
  • Experience with Agile development and Scrum/Kanban processes, or an alternative SDLC management process.
  • Experience capturing functional requirements in the form of User Stories and Epics, or equivalent.
  • Experience with development and deployment of hosted and/or multi-tenant software delivered as SaaS or Cloud that utilizes service-oriented architecture and presents published APIs.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Collaborating with product managers,  prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Defining the team’s vision for the modules and maintaining a consistent vision throughout the process.
  • Creating a product roadmap based on this vision.
  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing tasks based on changing requirements.
  • Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development.
  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
  • Working with the product team and end-users to deliver updates and status reports.
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints.
  • Acting as the “single voice” for priority and acceptance of what to work on for delivery of assigned product features.
  • Providing a clear statement of vision, direction, and release purpose and goals.
  • Maintaining a well-groomed Product Backlog according to business value.
  • Effectively and timely coordinating and communicating with Product Managers and other stakeholders to align with and contribute to the product roadmap and strategy.
  • Building and maintaining a strong practical knowledge of the product functionality and deployment architecture.
  • Producing, contributing to, and maintaining product collateral – product release notes, user guides, product fliers, product overviews, product presales presentations, and roadmap communications.
  • Planning Scrum and resources with R&D.
